Convictional supports a limited subset of EDI documents. We target the North American standard (EDI) currently, and do not support other EDI standards or formats at this time. If you are using a different EDI format, please let support know and we will consider future support.
EDI is a document-based way to share transactional information about orders and invoices between a buyer and a seller. Convictional currently has the ability to parse inventory updates (846), purchase order (850), and invoice (810) documents. In the near future we will add support for ship notifications (856). We further have the ability to confirm these documents with functional acknowledgements (997) as required by buyers or sellers using EDI.
Convictional provides companies with SFTP credentials upon sign-up. These credentials can be used to send and receive EDI documents with your customers or suppliers. Because Convictional has a generic model of B2B transactions, your customer or supplier does not need to use EDI to be able to process EDI transactions with you. Only one side of the transaction has to be on EDI, we do not require that both sides support EDI.
Seller EDI allows a seller in the Convictional network to receive purchase orders (850) and send inventory updates (846) and invoices (810). Convictional uses standard 4010 spec X12 EDI documents for each of these transactions. Please consult the relevant spec before sharing purchase orders and processing inventory updates and invoices on your side. If you have any questions about handling EDI documents, please contact support.
Buyer EDI allows a buyer in the Convictional network to send purchase orders (850) and receive inventory updates (846) and invoices (810). Convictional uses standard 4010 spec X12 EDI documents for each of these transactions. Please consult the relevant spec before processing purchase orders on your side and sharing inventory updates and invoices. If you have any questions about handling EDI documents, please contact support.
Convictional exists to make it easier for classic and modern sellers, as well as any kind of aggregator (marketplace, retailer or distributor) more easily trade with your partners. Providing a way for participants in the network to use EDI even if your customers or suppliers are not is one way we do this. If you have feedback on the EDI experience that Convictional is providing, please share those thoughts with support so we can improve the experience.
